"I like to see all countries together in peace" We went to Omonia and interviewed people who talked to us about what they were thinking about the Olympics games. An old greek man thinks that the Olympics games is very good for his country because he likes to see all countries together in peace . He is very happy that the O.G. will be in Greece in 2004. He hopes the police will make a good job for security. He would like the Olympics to stay in Athens forever because they started here. If he could be a famous Olympic star he would like to be a footballer because he likes running. After that we talk with a young woman, called Artemis, who likes the Olympic games for different economics reasons .It is a great thing for her country because there will be a lot of tourists who will bring a lot of money . The city will help to build many new hotels or sport buildings. She really likes football . She would like to be a tennis player because she thinks that this sport is very exiting and she would like to wear this uniform. For the future she hopes the Olympics games to continue in this way. Then we walked through the meat market and we met a butcher. He is very positive about the Games . It `s a way to improve the economy and some things of the everyday life of the city. Like for example, the public transport . The city will certainly work hard to improve the metro and the bus. The city will create new Olympic fields. He would like to be as Maurice Green and run the hundred meter. Later we interviewed someone else. He is from Athen and he is 45 years old .It`s the first person we met who thought that the Olympics are not good for the economy and for the people. For him, the city will spend money to prepare it than they will get back. Even if it is great for the fame of his country he does not think it will be a positive experience.There will be traffic problems and such. Anyway it will at least bring some things to the every day life of the people who lives in Athens. People will meet foreigners from so much different countries and it`s good to open minds. A big problem is also that the participants gets to much money . He would like that the participants only win a crown of laurel like in the ancient game and not so much money like now. There are also too much advertising and commercial companies behind the Games. He does not want to be a volunteer because he know that some people are paid to do that kind of work . But he will go to the stadium to see the games. Much because of he has been a former athlete in pole vaulting.
