Waiting for the Olympic Games Written by Saara Lamberg, Finland Phillis, 32, Greece A Greek salesman Phillis likes the Olympic games a lot. He watches specially all the classic sports and his favorite sport is running. Phillis thinks that Athens is well prepared for the Olympics and he is looking forward to them. Linda, 17, Finland A Finnish student Linda thinks that Olympic games are a nice event but she isn't too interested in them. Her favourite sports are athletics, specially running. In her opinion these kind of big happenings can be quite dangerous when they take place in such a big city as Athens. "There are so many people here and I guess this place will be all crowded and messed up during Olympics." Linda wishes that Olympic games will be a peaceful event with a lot of sport spirit. Vera, 20, The Netherlands Vera is a Dutch woman who doesn't usually watch a lot of sports. She likes the opening ceremony of the Olympics, though. She is pretty sporty herself, she goes skating and plays volley ball. Although she likes Olympics, she thinks that too much money is spent on them. If she went to watch the Olympics, she would like to see some other cultural events like street theatre and music, too. Saara, 20, Finland Saara is not too interested in the Olympic games. She thinks it is nothing special, but it is good for the international meetings. She doesn't like the competitions, but when Finland is playing she likes to watch it sometimes. She only likes to watch new sports like dancing and also she likes to watch athletics and swimming. Saara herself is doing sports like jogging, swimming and dancing. Enthi, 29, Greece Enthi is glad that the Olympic games are coming to Athens. She doesn't really like to watch sports but it depends. In any case she does not watch the weightlifting. She likes it that all the countries that are participating, come together in one place to have fun and have a good time. Enthi herself does not do sports anymore. She used to swim. She thinks Athens is not ready to host the Olympic games at this moment, but they will be ready in time. Miltos, 30, Greece Miltos likes the Olympic games a lot. He thinks it is very nice and he likes it that all the countries come together. He likes it to watch the games on the television. He ia always watching the running and the swimming. Miltos likes to swim. He used to participate in swim competitions. He thinks Athens will be ready when the Olympic games come to Greece, but not at the moment.
